SISUU is committed to reducing its environmental footprint and continuously reimagining ways to improve business practices. As passionate advocates for the ocean and nature, we have decided to donate 5% of our profits and dedicate our time to Operation Crayweed. This initiative focuses on enhancing biodiversity and supporting marine life along the East Coast of Australia through the cultivation of crayweed forests.

Currently, we are implementing the following measures:

• Utilising 100% organic ingredients and locally sourcing them whenever possible.
• Offering carbon-neutral shipping across Australia in partnership with Sendle.
• Designing our bottles to be screen printed, encouraging reuse or repurposing.
• Ensuring our packaging is compostable.
• Providing refillable satchels.
• Donating 5% of our profits to seaweed restoration.
• Ensuring our packaging suppliers are fair trade certified.
• Offering discounted refills at select locations.
• Providing free return shipping on refill satchels.

We are actively working towards the following initiatives:

• Obtaining B Corp certification.
• Creating a product using our SISUU Fire Tonic ferments.
• Increasing our involvement in Operation Crayweed.
• Installing solar energy systems at our headquarters.
• Exploring the use of curbside recycling material for our satchels (subject to a minimum order quantity of 10,000).
• Striving to become carbon positive.

Regarding the recycling of our top-up satchels, we regret to inform you that the Redcycle program, which facilitated soft plastic recycling in Australia, is currently on pause. This development is disheartening, as our aim was to enhance the environmental and sustainability aspects of refilling your glass bottle through the use of satchels.

Currently, there is no optimal recycling solution available for the satchels. However, we will keep you informed about any alternatives or updates regarding this program.
