Mitch will lead us through surfers movement and will test our bodies to understand what each individual needs to work on, sot that they can improve in the water.

LEARN TO HARNESS THE POWER

After building up a sweat, Emma will lead you through an experiential breathwork session so that you can surfers can dive deep into the power of the breath training for mindset, confidence and performance.

Techniques explored include:
  • Power breathing
  • Co2 tolerance training
  • Box breathing
  • Bolt testing
  • Power Breath Squat

You will feel the benefits of increased energy, recovery and safety in the water.

FACING YOUR FEARS

Surfing challenges our fears all the time. Use the breathwork you just learnt, to master being zen in the ice bath. The benefits of coldwater exposure include:

  • Reduced inflammation
  • Muscle recovery
  • Stress response and training the vagus nerve
  • Ignite the warrior within
It will test our mind and challenge our body, leaving us feeling reinvigorated.

MASTERING THE ELEMENTS

To finish the workshop, we will gather for a complimentary warming cacao and nourishing snack, where we will open up a discussion from the workshop learnings, main pillars and key takeaways. This is an opportunity to expand your surfing potential. You will come away with an understanding and clear path on how to take your surfing, health & mindset to a new level, holistically.

Instagram Mitch Barraclough - The Natural Connection

With over 10 years experience in his field, Mitch is a mobility and movement expert as well as a WSL competitive surfer. He uses his depth of knowledge about the human body and makes connections others don’t. With a passion for surf performance, Mitch’s understanding is holistic, impactful and effective. You will often find him at his local break Queenscliff, or sipping chai at Berkelo.

Instagram Emma Shearman - SISUU Founder

Emma Shearman is the founder of SISUU and an XPT Performance Breath and Cold Water Immersion Coach. She uses her expertise to teach people how to implement effective breathing techniques into their daily lives, helping them feel calm, centred and courageous. Being an avid surfer, spearfisher and freediver, she demonstrates how revolutionary breathwork is for our health, mindset and performance and has worked with big wave surfers and international brands including Patagonia.

FAQ

We will explore a variety of breath-work training, that involves up-regulating and down regulating the system. This includes bolt testing, power breathing, Co2 tolerance training, apena breath holds & box breathing.

Our workshops are designed to cater for all levels. Everyone has their fears and mindset limitations. There will be the chance to ask direct questions at the end of the session, with Mitch and Emma.

Cold water immersion benefits include:

Strengthening your immune system. Training your vagus nerve to handle stress with ease.
Improving your central nervous system and muscle recovery. Awakening the mind and soul

A NOTE ON COVID-19
We want you to feel safe and we take Covid-19 very seriously. We will provide hand sanitiser, hand wash, tissues and disinfectant for all students, as well as deep clean the premises before and after each workshop.
